As countries struggle with the global impacts of climate change and energy crisis, representatives from UNFCCC members countries and observers’ organizations will meet in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt (COP 27) from 6 to 18 November, 2022 for climate negotiations. The meeting also comprises the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 17) and the fourth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA 4).
The objective is to build on previous successes and paving the way for future ambition to effectively tackle the global challenge of climate change.
As usual, African Centre for Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development will be represented at the meeting by our Executive Director, Unyime Robinson. Alongside our partners, Sports For Future and Zenaga Foundation, a side event on the theme ‘Promoting climate actions through Green School Project” will be hosted at Nigerian Pavilion on Tuesday, 8th November,2022. The Panelists will include; Stefan Wagner of Sports For Future, Unyime Robinson, African Centre for Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development and Kai Zimmermann of Zenaga Foundation and others.
The side event will showcase the Green School Project as well as highlight the strong North South Cooperation in term of facilitating climate change actions and green growth in Nigeria. The side event will also seek to mobilize further cooperation and partnership toward green project in Nigeria.
